Hensley's 5th Birthday!

Ok so this is suuuuper late but I just realized that I never published this because I never finished finding all the pictures so I am thinking I am probably not going to so here ya go 4months later....

My sweet and spunky princess turned 5 Wednesday, April 20th. I think she actually got to celebrate more this year than any year in the past since on her actual birthday we were slam packed that day. Here is the run down of her celebrations :)
Tuesday, April 12th...
*Hensley had a party at Chuck-E-Cheese with her Aunt Lindsay who turned 31
Friday, April 15th...
*Spend the night party with 5 of her bestest buddies
Wednesday, April 20th...
*On her actual birthday her ever so sweet daddy brought her a cookie cake to her class for snack time so her whole class could celebrate with her
*For lunch we went to a picnic and egg hunt with my CBS core group hosted by a very gracious Hope Sewell who made very yummy rainbow cupcakes and gave Hensley a "Birthday Girl" pin to wear so everyone would know it was her special day. Thanks Hope! :)
*During our would be quiet/nap time Hensley and I took Babyman home for his nap with Daddy and we headed over to see Mrs. Kelli and Charlie who are home from Bahrain for a visit. Charlie's granparents were having a birthday celebration for him since he turned 5 a couple weeks ago and he ever so sweetly shared his celebration with Hensley. He even let her help him blow out the birthday candles and open his gifts. Charlie brought her an awesome Bahrain soccer uniform for her birthday gift which she totally loves!
Friday, April 22nd...
*Hensley ended her last celebration with Grandmama and P-pops at Old Mexico for dinner. They got her another Lalaloopsy that she wanted and a cupcake on a stick (yummy). The waitress and waiters suprised Hensley with the big hat and happy birthday song in spanish. Hensley is never one to get embarrassed but her little face turned red when she was caught off guard, but she quickly gathered her wits about her when she realized SHE was the center of attention...WHICH IS TOTALLY HER FORTE!

Hensley has had many different amazing birthday celebrations, I hope she knows what a special little girl she is!

40 Randoms

Over the last few months I made notes to myself about myself, others, things in general. Yeah, I am weird, but out of a majorly long list of some really whacked out stuff here are 40 of them....

1. What would possess someone to paint their car yellow and write STARBURST on it? I mean fundip is probably my all time favorite candy but I don't feel the need to advertise it on my vehicle...although I might get some interesting looks and comments.
2. I love how Hensley always wears her flip flops on the wrong feet.
3. I love how Hensley just breaks into song whenever, wherever and about anything at the top of her lungs.
4. The only day I have ever felt beautiful was at my first wedding.
5. I feel very inadequate and unknowledgeable in my Bible study group.
6. 6 years ago today...August 30, 2004 my first husband committed suicide.
7. My favorite color is purple, has been my whole life.
8. I didn't know how important a personal relationship with God was until He was the only thing I had to hold onto.
9. Being able to experience being a stay at home mom has made my job loss a true blessing.
10. I must have been on crack when I cut all my hair off.
11. Your past will always be a part of you but it doesn't have to become you.
12. I loath string beans and muscadines to the point of gagging if I smell them.
13. My name came from my mother's name...Aron O'Neal Nicholls/Sharon O'Neal Nicholls.
14. My all time favorite movie is "Dirty Dancing"with Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze.
15. I love how baby Steven always sits with his sweet chubby little feet crossed.
16. One of my many favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11-13.
17. I am an ex-smoker that quite the day I found out I was pregnant with my first child but I still crave them everyday.
18. I have pumped gas only twice since Steven and I got married :)
19. My favorite holiday is July 4th .
20. My BFF and I were both born in Newport News, VA but our families didn't meet until we were months old in Dothan, AL.
22. I met my husband Steven, before I got married the first time and he told a friend of mine that he was going to marry me one day...little did I know years later it would be true.
23. I am terrified of guns but try not to be since my husband has a great love for them.
24. I would much rather txt or email than actually talk to someone on the phone. (but hey don't let that keep you from calling me!)
25. St. George Island, FL is my favorite place to vacation.
26. I am a faithful watcher of the tv show Dexter...I might need to do some self reflection on why I like this show...lol.
27. I internalize everything.
28. I love that Baby Steven concentrates on your eyes as you are rocking him.
29. Many nights I wake up in the middle of the night craving coffee.
30. Casting Crowns is my favorite band.
31. A nap never feels as good as being able to sleep late in the morning.
32. I rarely cry and if I do it is because I can't swallow it.
33. I might just love dry cheerios more than my 1yr old does.
34. Ice cream is my favorite desert.
35. I never thought I would like driving a "mommy car" but I love my wagon.
36. Fleece shirt/life is good t-shirt, jeans and crocs are my preferred attire.
37. I let Hensley stay up late to watch the cartoon OLIVIA because it reminds me of her and I think it is funny...lol!
38. Sometimes being still and quiet is all that is needed to listen.
39. I have chronic migraines.
40. I always ask Hensley if she knows how much I love her and she opens her arms as big as she can and replies "more than I can hold".

The Big One

Ok so I am behind...a few months. November 18th, my sweet baby Steven turned the big one. We had a great little family birthday party for him with the theme being appropriately turkeys...ha! We decorated pumpkins and t-shirts, had a turkey shoot with a paintball gun and an awesome meal served by daddy Steven...lots of fun to last the whole day!

Blue Springs

We went to Blue Springs one day last week when Steven was off during the week. Hensley was determined she was going to go swimming. In already cold water and it being the middle of October the water was more like ice water but she was pretty set she was going to do it...and she did, blue lips and all. We had a great time as a family. Afterwards we made a short trip to the hunting cabin in Cloptin to get some shooting practice in.






Babyman chilled in the stroller and had a snack watched Hensley scream every time she got into the water haha!




Hensley finally decided she was a Popsicle and got out of the water to warm up and get snack.




There was lots of great colorful leaves and large acorns to use for decorations for Steven's upcoming 1st birthday!!

Hensley LOVED this thing, we couldn't get her off of it.




We left the springs and ate lunch at this restaurant across the street. So, sorry to the patrons for my loud kids and my son who was VERY loud bc he could hear his echo in the building...haha!


Destin to shoot her first deer soon I am sure!


That is actually Hensley's gun but it is too heavy for her to hold by herself. The first shot she ever shot, Steven found the shell and put it on her charm bracelet...lol.


Yeah, I look like a goof and am still terrified of guns.

The pictures in the previous post would have been gone had it not been for my younger brother Robbie and his wife, Lindsay who know how to retrieve pictures after you have already re-formatted your card. I was sick thinking I had lost all my pictures on my camera when I accidentally re-formatted my card...yeah I do not know what I am doing most of the time...lol. Thank goodness for these two that got them back for me.
