Oompa Loompa, doopity doo...

Last night Steven, Hensley and I went to see Willy Wonka Kids by SEACT. It was absolutely fantabulous!

We started our evening off by leaving our little man with our favorite sitter Savannah. He was very excited to have her to himself. Then Steven, Hensley and I went to have a nice dinner at KINZA. Hensley is pretty darn good with the chopsticks too.

Silly girl!

Hensley was so excited to see this play. She has seen both Willy Wonka movies about a million times and can quote them word for word. We all loved the play but Hensley the most. To complete the night and make it a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious night, one of the sweetest little Oompaloomas coming to find her parents smiled at Hensley and asked her to give her five. Hensley was on cloud nine after that! She was so excited to actually talk and touch an Oompaloompa she could hardly contain herself...ha! So, thank you to the sweet Oompa that spontaneously did that, it made a little girls night!

Only picture I got at the end of the show...not very good. Wish I had gotten one of Hensley and her sweet Oompaloompa!

Let The Good Times Roll

Once a month Steven and I have a fabulous group of friends that get together and go out to dinner while the kids stay with some awesome care givers. Last night I happened to bring my camera along and snapped a few shots at the end of dinner. We were missing a few husbands and two of the normal couples but had a great turn out none the less. :)

Super Happy Hensley

Today Hensley is going to be more than excited when she gets home from school. Her most wonderful daddy bought her a few prizes today...

Willy Wonka tickets for this weekend. Hensley loves to see plays and even more she loves having undivided attention from mommy and daddy!

Casting Crown concert tickets...front row center...only the best for this daddy's little girl. ;)

The first Casting Crown's concert that Steven, Hensley and I attended was in 2006 when they came to Ozark, Alabama. I saw that Hensley attended because I was just 5 days away from my due date with her. Steven and I had 3rd row tickets and thank goodness they were on the end since a mommy in my condition had to excuse herself a number of times to go to the bathroom. :) Hensley has loved, LOVED Casting Crowns music for as long as I can remember and is always singing along to them in the car or on her mp3 player. The funny thing I remember about the concert is that it was the only time Hensley got the hiccups and she actually moved around alot.
Steven and I were both very excited when we found out they were coming to Dothan and we would get a chance to actually take Hensley to a concert. She is our little singer/performer and is very excited herself at the thought of seeing them in person. I know once she gets there and sees that she is closer to the stage than anyone else she probably will not be able to contain her little self. I hope November comes fast!

This is a picture from the 2006 concert...

We did not take any pictures of ourselves at the concert but Easter was that Sunday and here I am ready to pop.

And to top of ALL OF THAT, we found her some corn nuggets! Her absolute favorite!!!!

OH YEAH, SHE WAS EXCITED!!!!

1st Time For Everything...

I guess it is never too late to have a 1st time as a mommy to break down and cry because your child is upset you are leaving him/her. Well, my first time actually happened this morning. I have never been a mother that got upset that their child cried a little because they were being left because I knew as soon as I walked away they were fine. This morning CBS (Community Bible Study) started back up which I was really stoked about because I love, love, love my time spent there and getting to know many other wonderful Christian women...but after taking my little one, Steven who is 1 to his class this am my morning took a bit of a turn. My experience with his class last year was a bit different to say the least. This morning I walk into about 7 other 1 year olds screaming and crying because they have also been left somewhere unknown to them. :( Steven who is generally not a big crier and may cry for only a moment when I leave was very unsettled by this as I was too. I actually had to step out of the room with him and I am sure my poor son felt my uneasiness as I broke down in tears in front of him. My flight instincts were kicking in and I really, REALLY was just about to leave with him. I have never encountered anything like this before. Maybe it was just me not handling it well this morning but, I didn't leave with him and I finally put him back in the room with a number of sweet women to take care of him and he proceeded to throw probably the biggest fit I have ever seen him throw. Head hit the floor, red face, kicking and screaming...I just had to leave (crying my eyes out) and let one of the ladies take care of it. So I spent the next 2 hours with my stomach in knots feeling like I had just put my child through something just awful. When the lecture was over I rushed back to my sweet little one and of course he was perfectly fine playing with a smile on his face. So, why was I worrying so much I ask myself?! Over protective mommy or maybe just crazy...lol! Anyway, next week I will have on my stronger mommy armor. :) I will just have to pray everyone gets use to getting dropped off... FAST!

Sympathy Card

I picked out this sympathy card for a friend and thought it was perfect and so true I just wanted to share it....

To every follower of the Lord there comes a time when the voice of God will say, "Welcome Home." The sound of "welcome home" is something that every traveler longs to hear. "Welcome Home" means that you are in a place where you are in a place where you are fully embraced, welcomed, appreciated and enjoyed. Most of all it means you're in the presence of those who love you.

There is special comfort in knowing that the words "welcome home" have been heard in heaven, as the beautiful memories of your loved one's life remain here in our hearts. (Roy Lessin)

"There are many rooms in My Father's home, and I am going to prepare a place for you... so that you will always be with Me where I am." John 14:2,3 NLT
